Megara Resins’s support of the historic sports club “Vyzas“, by facilitating a large part of the annual budget, was announced on Wednesday by the Chief Financial Officer of the company, Ioannis Sakketos, during a meeting in the Hall of the Municipal Council of Megara, where initiatives of the club’s management were presented by its President, Ioanna Riga. Mr. Sakketos announced the decision of Megara Resins S.A. to respond to the request of the community of Megara to strengthen “Vyzas” in order to regain the momentum that will allow it to develop and continue to be the foundation for young people in sports.
In the meeting attended by the Mayor of Megara Grigoris Stamoulis, the Deputy Mayor Ierotheos Polychronis, the President of the Municipal Council of Megara Yiannis Dimas, the heads of the municipal associations Kleanthis Varelas, Panagiotis Margetis, Giorgos Koumbetsos as well as the municipal councilors Spyros Nikolaou and Stelios Fryganas, a shared concern was expressed about the direction of the club and the issue of its practical support.
By addressing this issue, Megara Resins, for one more year, proves that the social corporate responsibility of Megara’s businesses can create the basis for development, social cohesion and culture for the entire local community.
Both the Mayor and the representatives of the Municipal Council expressed their gratitude for the support Megara Resins is proving to the sports clubs of the city, emphasizing that it is necessary, that the example of Konstantinos and Christos Fanis be followed and by other businesses.
On behalf of Megara Resins, Mr. Sakketos stated that the company remains faithful to its philosophy of strengthening actions and initiatives that focus on people and their needs, especially in this period when society is faced with even more economic hardships. With this in mind, Konstantinos and Christos Fanis created the corporate-social responsibility program “Society” which supports the Megaridos Youth Hostel and other sports clubs, environmental, educational and cultural events, actions for the elderly and hospitals of National Health System.
